Right out of college I went to work for Vision Quest in Tucson. After 5 months I became homesick for family and friends and moved back to New Jersey.
I loved Tuscon! It is almost impossible to get lost in this city. It is so well laid out. I did miss green leafy plants and trees! Fortunately, Mt. Lemmon is a short drive away. You can wind your way up to the top in about an hour. (slow going) As you go up, green leafy plants and trees appear and the air cools. Good for homesick New Jerseyans.
This picture here is of a cabin Vision Quest had at the top of the mountain. During time off employees could stay and relax here. There was a big forest fire here this past year and I heard that a lot of buildings were burnt down. I wonder if this lovely A frame cabin was a casulty? I hope not! |
