Look at those eyes! Wait 'til you see the temple! | You looking at me? This temple is a "must see" |
This is my favorite temple in Tibet, perhaps in all of China! It has a unique shape, almost like a pyramid, plus there's those eyes that stare at you from north, south, east, and west. You must try to include this destination in addition to Lhasa on your Tibet itinerary. There's more to see here as well. Keep looking! |
| Take me home, country road, to the place I belong |
| | Small villages nearby have true rural character You can rent a bicycle and visit small villages beyond the city. I went down a country road and encountered this fellow on his way home. |
| Northeast Gyangze as seen from west (Highway 204) |
| | Gyangze's natural setting is in a mountain valley! You'll love the natural scenery here in addition to the Tibetan architecture. Oh sure, the city has plenty of ugly Chinese-built concrete structures but the pastoral atmosphere is still not like bustling Lhasa or hustling Shigatse. |

| Pros: | "You're going to love adding this place to your VT travel map!" | | Cons: | "There's not enough space on one page to post all of your photos" | | In A Nutshell: | "One of the best places for photography in Tibet; muy hermoso!" |
