The Lake Yet Unnamed (Wei Ming Hu)

This is one of the most popular places for making out on the campus of Peking University. There is a small island in the middle of the lake and the big boat there, as well as the many benches along the south shore, must be reserved well in advance for midnight romance.

The west side is the best side of Peking U.

There are many old buildings on the west side of campus that were constructed in the classical Chinese architectural style, including the Sackler Museum of Chinese Archeology which is just north of the administrative building shown in this photo.

Pros and Cons

Pros:The beautiful campus, in northwest Beijing, was formerly a part of the original Summer Palace
Cons:It takes an hour to get to the main attractions downtown

Thanks thanks thanks!!! I'd stayed in Beijing for some time for study. Haidian was exactly the place I stayed then. Everything here reminds me of my time in Beijing. I remember the book city. Is it still there? :-)
