Cambridge is a pleasant interesting place to see | The River Cam surrounds the town of Cambridge |
Spring is the best time to visit Cambridge, an old town built around a collection of different colleges. Many tourists opt for a gondola ride on the River Cam, enabling one to hear tales of Cambridge while enjoying the glorious views of nature and architecture. |

| | Enjoy a stroll alongside the colleges of Cambridge I suggest a late morning walk beginning at the Round Church and continuing along St. John's Street, Trinity Street, and Kings Parade. Turn right at Mill Lane for lunch at Dojo Noodle Bar and then do either the Fitzwilliam Museum on Trumpington Street or continue back across Silver Street for a stroll along The Backs to the Bridge of Sighs at St. John's. |
Beautiful horse chestnut tree blossoms everywhere! This splendid tree was imported from the Balkans to Britain in the 16th century and there are many tall ones in Cambridge's parks. The spring blossoms are white or pink and resemble handcrafted conical candles.
There is a game children play in the autumn using the horse chestnut's hard fruit. It's called "conkers" and involves conquering the other kid's conker, the name of the ripened nut. They attach a string to it and take turns swinging at the opponent's conker until one breaks off the string. | | | Cambridge horse chestnut trees look best in spring |
