Matka Borealis: Lovely inn near the Train Station

I remembered this place fairly well because of its unusual name. Makta Borealis means "Travel Northern Light" in Finnish (thanks kimmo_v!). What an appropriate name for a charming little inn! Lizzy and I booked a double room ( 52 euros) with a bathroom and we were given a charming little place that overlooks the forest green.

Unique Qualities: Leila, the motherly owner, lent a very homey atmosphere to the whole place. She prepares breakfast for all her boarders (breakfast is included in the price) and gives ready tips to local places of interest in her homey little kitchen. Her little inn sees boarders from all over the world. When we were there, we met Italians and Japanese tourists.

Tip Update: I think Leila got a little web savvy, she now has a website which allows online booking!
