Since Narvik was about 200 miles away from the nearest train station, I had to journey south to Bodø to take the train to Oslo. So, Liz and I boarded a Norway Bussekspress bus and we journeyed for about 6 hours on the southbound route to Bodø. But the long ride turned out to be a mini adventure and a panaromic experience. The entire journey from Bodø to Narvik was interspersed with lush green forests, strange black granite peaks and haunting blue fjords. Our bus threaded through windy roads through this whole scenary and at one point on the journey, it even went into a mouth of a great big boat ! Simply amazing. We were quite sad when the journey ended at Bodø as the place was like a ghost town on a Sunday! Bummer. We spent the rest of the day walking around and admired its scenic beauty instead. |
