Though it seems a little strange for me to talk about birding in the heartlands of Singapore, let me assure you that this place is rich with possibilities. Many types of birds and rare plants can be seen in this place. Shrikes, Barbets, Bulbuls, you name it. If you don't believe me, go take a walk in Bukit Batok Park in the early hours, chances are, you'll see and hear the white crested laughing thrush giggling in the bush and the straw headed bulbul singing an aria in the rocky arena. Just remember to bring with you a decent pair of bins ( 8x25 at least) and a telephoto lens (400-600mm) if you're doing shoots. The bird that you see above was shot with a 400m lens with a teleconverter.

Superb set of birds pictures. BTW, the dove is not peaceful at all. It is ferocious with its own species and a male can kill another male after it had made it blind!
