Still under Construction, it's still full of crap

Note of caution: If you've come to page expecting to read about the seafood in Lamma island, be prepared to be disappointed. Seafood is at best passable here, this island is better known for her other delicacies.

Just a little beyound the glittering facade of Hong Kong Island, lies the little island of Lamma. Now, this island had sirens that has lured me and disturbed me for some time now. The sirens sang of good food to be had. Of the softest curd made of soya bean and of the most delicious feral bird that was roasted to a crisp. Both these two dishes were somewhere in the backwoods of the island and to journey there, I needed to endure a bumpy 40min ferry ride, walk under the hot sun and get kissed by mosquitoes on a grassy trail. And so I did journey out and found those two delicacies under circumstances that were most vexing! But my impatience usually dissipates under the influence of good food that nade my day. Read my page to find out more.

Of course, it's wrong to say that the island is only known for food, there are other things, cryptic or otherwise to lure the casual historian or photographer here. Take the Kamikaze Grottos, for examples, it's dark, it's mysterious and it houses secrets from WWII. Click here to read more about it.

Photography here is also excellent, the scenary is diverse, particularly if you venture into the nature trails that snakes from one busy pier to another.

Don't agree with you assessment of the seafood. I ate at Tai Yuen (Dec. 2011) and it was the best i have ever eaten, hands down. And, i am not alone in this assessment. "Passable" is misleading at best. Where is the seafood so much better that this becomes passable?
