Sonneveld House is a monument of Dutch Functionalist architecture. It was designed by the architectural team of Brinkman and Van der Vlugt, also famous for the Van Nelle Factory and Feyenoord Stadium. A.H. Sonneveld, one of the three directors of Van Nelle, commissioned the design of a free-standing house for his family in 1929. Four years later the house was completed and the Sonneveld family moved in.
Sonneveld House is situated in the centre of Rotterdam at the corner of Rochussenstraat and Jongkindstraat.

My mother and I are both very interested in architecture. Often, we visit a town or city, taking pictures and be impressed by the great, sometimes overwelming, sometimes very detailed buildings. On my virtualtourist-pages of Rotterdam, I tell you about the architecture of the buildings. To everyone who's also intested in architecture, I would like to advise a trip to Rotterdam, architecture capital!
