North to South

We arrived at Hanoi, and spent a couple of days there, then to Halong Bay, for a boat tour. Back to Hanoi, took the night train to Sapa. Spent most of the Tet holiday trekking the hills around Sapa and Bac-Ha, spending the holiday with the various tribes. Back to Hanoi in the night train, and flew over to Hue. A couple of days in Hue, and by car to Hoi-Anh, stopping on the way in the Marble mountain. Hoi-Anh is a most charming town. By car to Dannang, visit to the Cham museum and flew to Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City. by car to My Tho in the delta of the Mekong, for a boat and car ride, around the delta for 2 days. Back to Saigon for a city tour by cyclo, and north to the CuChi tunnels. Last day a well deserved very enjoyable foot massage, and to the airport. bye bye Vietnam, hope to be back.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Very friendly people, beautiful and versatile places
Cons:Traffic on the read, crossing the street in Hanoi
In a nutshell:worth every minute and every penny (or Dong actually)

Beautiful photos and enthusiastic descriptions. Glad you had such a good guide. I'm a bit claustrophobic, too, but made it through the Cu Chi Tunnels with flying colors.

I loved Vietnam too, especially Sapa, Hue and Hoi An, and I agree that a guide makes the trip easier and more enjoyable.
