OK, when you go into such a beautiful country, you maybe don't imagine to put a foot in a museum, when there is so much to see... Don't ! Even if your first museums (Museum del banco Central, frequently) will bore you more than marvel you, you may see expositions of local artists (as we did) and maybe meet this artist (as we did too)... Meeting contemporary local artists or Watching their Chef d'oeuvre is equivalent to an in-depth sight of Ecuadorian daily life...

Ok, lorsque l'on va dans un pays comme l'Equateur, on envisage peut-etre pas de passer sa vie dans les musees... Mais, ce serait dommage de les manquer. Les premiers (del Banco Central, souvent) vous ennuieront peut-etre, mais d'autres vous emerveillerons, vous pourrez peut-etre voir des belles expos locales et rencontrer les artistes en direct ! Cela equivaut parfois a jeter un oeil plus avise sur la population et la vie quotidienne de l'Equateur...

Have you ever seen the bad guy with a bad guy face (of course...) winning over the blond haired guy from the USA ? Have you ever seen this bad guy opening a restaurant and coming back to normal life ? Have you ever seen a ugly guy attracting sexy women but refusing them ? Have you seen Matrix with a Tacos cooker ? If it's not the case, you have to watch El Cholo...

Avez-vous deja vu le mechant avec une sale face eclater la tete du gentil americain tout blondinet ? Avez-vous vu ce meme mechant ouvrir un restaurant au debut du film ? Avez-vous deja vu une sale tete attirer les femmes sexy du coin... et les repousser ? Avez-vous deja vu Matrix joue par un cuisinier specialiste de tacos ? Si ce n'est pas le cas, regardez El Cholo...

Things To Do: Banos : Tungurahua by night

You may take this truck riding in the center of Banos, around 20.30-21.00, to go up to Bellavista and attend the never-happening eruption (if it was to happen, there would be no truck in town !). But, up there, two "chicos" juggle with sticks in fire (really impressive !), you have a great view over a lit Banos and you may drink as much sugar cane alcohol as you want !! 3 USD

Vous pouvez prendre ce truck qui se balade dans le centre de Banos, vers 20.30-21.00, pour monter sur le point de vue de Bellavista, soi-disant pour voir une eruption (s'il y en avait, il n'y aurait pas de truck en ville !). Mais, une fois en haut, deux "chicos" jonglent superbement avec le feu, vous avez une belle vue sur un Banos illumine, etvous pouvez boire autant d'alcool de camme que vous souhaitez ! 3 USD

Cheap (1 USD), full of people (Virgen) or empty (Santa Ana, outside the city), hot but often full of germs (be careful !)...

Pas cher (1 USD), plein (Virgen) ou pas plein (Santa Ana, en dehors de la ville), chaud mais souvent plein de saloperies (attention !)...

Carnaval in Guaranda

I would like to tell you how Carnaval in Guaranda is marvelous, but :
1. I drunk too much during the first night and don't remember anything
2. It was raining when people were walking in the streets, typically dressed, so we didn't see much
3. We passed more time in avoiding water bombs than in watching the festivities !

Je voudrais vous en dire plus sur le magnifique Carnaval de Guaranda, mais :
1. J'etais trop saoul le premier soir pour me souvenir quoi que ce soit
2. Il pleuvait des cordes pendant le defile et on ne voyait pas grand chose
3. On passait plus de temps a eviter les bombes a eau qu'a regarder les festivites !
