You never tasted the excellent colombian food before ? Never drank "Aguardiente", this typical colombian alcohol, really close to "absynth" ? This is the place for you... Vous n'avez jamais goute a la bouffe colombienne ? Vousn'avez jamais bu de l' "aguardiente", cet alcool colombien proche de l'absynthe ? Alors, venez ici
Favorite Dish: All the dishes ("arepas") are good and cheap (maximum 2 USD per meal), but definitely, you have to spend money in the drinks !! Tous les plats ("arepas") sont bons et pas chers (maxi 2 USD), mais, definitivement, vous devez claquer un peu d'argent dans les boissons !

Another colombian restaurant ! As cool and as cheap (about 2,5 USD and you'll be full !) ! It has to be tested !!! Un autre resto colombien ! Aussi sympa et aussi pas cher (2,5 USD et vous serez repu !) ! Faut l'essayer !!!

It's not the cheapest one in town (from 1.85 USD to 2.50 USD), but I really liked the calm of the place, the really nice juice and coffee and the design ! Ce n'est pas le moins cher (de 1.85 a 2.5 USD), mais j'ai bien aime le calme qui y regne, le jus de fruit et le cafe, tout autant que le design !

I would call this place (whose name I never found) : "El taller del artista" ! Indeed, an artist runs the place and has transformed this place in a huge artistic restaurant. Few people come here, and you can enjoy its width and peaceful atmosphere... J'appelerai cet endroit (dont je ne connais toujours pas le nom) : "El taller del artista"! En effet, c'est un artiste qui tient le lieu et il a transforme cet espece de hangar en un superbe endroit pour dejeuner. Peu de gens semblent connaitre l'endroit et donc, on peut vraiment apprecier sa largeur et son atmosphere reposante...
Favorite Dish: 1 USD for a good "almuerzo" (lunch), you won't find it everywhere in Cuenca ! 1 USD pour un bon "almuerzo" (dejeuner), vous ne trouverez pas ca partout a Cuenca !

Cosy room(7 tables), classic music Typical almuerzos, served with sauces (that changes a lot from the other restaurants) that make your meal more tasty than in any other place ! Antipasti, main meal, desert and local juice for 1.50 USD per person !! Une petite salle tranquille (7 tables), de la musique classique... On y sert des almuerzos typiques, avec de bonnes sauces (ca change !). Entree, plat principal, dessert et jus de fruits pour 1.50 USD par personne !!!

Many "casas" sell some food, around the same prices : between 2 (filete de pescado)-3 (camarones) -4 or 5 (langostina) USD -> In calle Fosforera : - Resaurante Los Dos Hermanos (left when watching the beach) - Florecita (right when watching the beach, close to the Gabeal) -> In the main street : - Comedor Margerita ("far" from the beach) - Comedor Economica ("close" to the beach) I tested all of them : they are OK ! Plusieurs baraques servent quelques plats, pratiquant les memes prix : 2 (filets de poisson), 3 (crevettes) et 4/5 (langoustines) USD : -> dans la calle Fosforera : - Resaurante Los Dos Hermanos (a gauche en regardant la plage) - Florecita (a droite en regardant la plage, pres du Gabeal) -> dans la rue principale : - Comedor Margerita ("loin" de la plage) - Comedor Economica ("proche" de la plage). Je les ai testes : c'est bon !!
Favorite Dish: Filete de pescado, camarones fritos/en ajito, langostina.... !!

Super place for north americans or gringos missing their country (what was not our case, unfortunately). Possibility to change books too. Bel endroit pour americains ou gringos regrettant leur pays (ce qui n'etait toutefois pas notre cas). Possibilite d'echanger des bouquins.
Favorite Dish: Great pizzas and banana or apple pies... A bit expensive but very good Super pizzas et gateaux de banane ou de pomme Un peu cher mais bon
