Biking, skirting a small river and tree alley

Something I did and liked was cycling in Greater Ghent years ago.

I don't remember of the name of the spot we were in. I know it was in Greater Ghent. Quite a countryside with nice alleys and dirty roads (yes!)

We skirted the little river there, with trees along our flat path. That was a nice ride that ended with a hot chocolate in a nearby stamcafý, with people from the village.

Unfortunately, I am not able to give you the name of the spot but it's in the outskirts of Ghent. Plus, I am pretty sure there should be many of this type of scenery in the area. It was sunny, not hot, but surroundings were great, some spring green.

I just remember we went there after visiting a posh residential area. One of my then friends wanted to buy a good-looking villa there so he showed us the "thing". Then, we followed our path to the small villages in the countryside.

Tools in case of accidents (!)
Windbreaker though it is in Spring

Canoeing in Lys river?

It was possible to canoe during the Ghentse festivities on Lys river. If then, I guess it is also possible to do it everyday or was it a move of the moment?

Anyway, check the website I gave in previous tip and you would find more about canoeing in Ghent, canal city.

Equipment: Canoeing on the city should be nice but no sure it was on July 21st with all the crowds. Yet, this guy was smiling so I guess it was fun... for him, at least
