08-07-07 - ANTHONY GORMLEY EXHIBITION
BLIND LIGHT
The Hayward
(Southbank Centre London)

Soooooooooo worth a visit, just for going into this completely fogged up cube, where you have to "feel" your way through the light. Even better if you have someone with you.

I loved this experience of walking hand in hand with Stephen and not being able to even see the end of my arm... haha... weird, like out of one of these 1970 sci-fi movies where aliens appear out of that super-thick fog.

>> not for claustrophobics, and very humid, so anybody with asthma needs to stay out.

Mr. Gormley's other sculptures are in-& outdoors and as it was a fantastic sunny day, I could get some fab shots... :) see for yourself! More images in the travelogue below. ENJOY

Tickets need to be pre-booked:

Only Gormley in the head! ha ha ..

Stephen was the initiator of this artistic exploration and even though I find Gormley is becoming a bit (sorry) predictable.
I know Gormley from when I lived in Newcastle - he created the "Angel of the North".

Still my favourite was that cube of "BLIND LIGHT"

Pros:"Lots of cultural mix, arts and parks"
Cons:"People make places... you just gotta find the right ones who make London a lovely place... that's tough!"
In A Nutshell:"One would say that one has a love/hate relationship with this city..."

I love your photos of the "Appearing Rooms", and a good salutary reminder how lucky we are indeed - thank you :)
