>> LARGE WILD CATS ON THE MOOR??Here kitty, kitty, kitty

******************

Where to begin - Just outside Okehampton is a reservoir where we started training weekend no. 4!

I saw so much today - thanks to Kelvin (new hiking buddy gallore) who guided me on a 5.5 hour hike from Meldon Reservoir over to Yes Tor and the highest peak of Dartmoor > High Willhays ... it was magnificent - even though the wind/storm/gale almost blew us off the top and taking sharp pictures was a bit of a challenge wobbling in the wind.

At the bottom of Killervalley (a name well deserved) we didn't find an appropriate shallow spot to cross the river as with the mad rainfalls the water has swelled and the current was strong.

So... after walking up and down one side to check out alternatives, we decided to brave the elements, take our shoes off and wade to the other side... this is November remember - the ponds were frozen last weekend ... so it was a rather "refreshing" experience to say the least.

... more to come soon...

Pros:"ohhhhhhhhh the list is getting longer"
Cons:"beware of steeeeep hills!!! :P haha"
In A Nutshell:"The moor is never the same - it is moody and dramatic and has a soul"

Fantastic, somewhat mysterious, pictures of the mountains. I like the picture: Iris on top of England :)

Great photos of the wild moors and autumn colours. I didn't realise the highest point in England was there. Gee it looks cold !
