REAM National Park

Preah Sihanouk "Ream" national Park is one of the seven national parks in Cambodia established by His Majesty Norodom Sihanouk in 1993 and officially inaugurated in March 1995. The Park covers an area of 21,000 hectars including 15,000 hectares of terrestrial and 6,000 hectares of marine habitats. There 155 different species of birds found in the park including some globally threatened species such as :

- The lesser Adjutant

- Milky and Woolly-necked storks

Typical of the national park around the world, the objectives of the park management include pretecting the biodiversity of the park, managing the park resources sustain ably, providing opportunities for education, science and tourism.

'Ream' national park situated 18 km from Sihanoukville and approximately about 194 km from Phnom Penh, provides a unique experience for the visitors interested in exploring some of Cambodia's natural and cultural environment. Visitors can participate in a number of activities with the park rangers providing various services to help visitors discover Ream's diverse environment.

Sihanoukville beaches aren't a patch on Thailand's and sight are few and far between but as Cambodia's only maritime port it makes reasonable base for exploring the south cost and nearby Ream National Park.


Four beaches ring the headline :-

i- Ochheuteal beach

ii- Sokha beach

iii- Independence beach

iv- Victory beach


Beside that, the fishing port offers the odd photo opportunity at sunrise and sunset for photo lover. There are also few dive operation in town plus a waterfall an hours drive away, with the stragely skeletal of seaside kept further along. Sihanoukville 232 km from capital and is served by regular buses.
