Looking for a rice teracces. I head up to Banaue from Baguio City. Took me about approximately 8 hours to reach. I departed from Baguio KMS bus station and decided travel on night bus. I was ill during this time with my running nose make me alot tense, so I decided I dont want to make any conversation with any one. So, I arrived to the station quite early. Anywhere, one and half hour before depart and I was thinking this much better because I am afraid I wouldnt be able to get any seat for time waiting later on if I arrive late. Basically, the bus station is just some kind a like small booth with one counter operating and 2 long benches facing each other. So, I sat in one of the bench. Not many people yet but it will get more and more later I believe. There is a local girl, studying education and will becoming a teacher was sitting right next to me. She seems wanting to talk to me but I was completely ignore her. Then she keep talking to her friend and I never make any thought about talking to her. I was getting even sick yikes when seeing few of guys arrived and talking Tagalog loud with hand acting seems like they were having an arguement. I just once in a while look at them while my right hand holding handkerchief to cover my nose. I couldnt even stand when seeing this guy really gross when he simply spitting infront of us. It is almost get to my shoe the orangy spits but I managed to keep it away and I stared at them observing. Must be drunk! An hour later, I never moved away from my seat. Not because I being self-fish but I am pretty lazy to get up when I realised that the girl next to me was trying to talk to me which I completely ignore her for the first time. A moment later, I look at her and say " Sorry?" and she look at me back and re-say it in Tagalog what she has said just now. " Oh sorry, I dont understand you. I am not Pinoi" and smile to her. She was a bit stunt and say " oh really? no wonder you never talk or reply what I asked you just now and I thought something wrong on you somewhere". We started talking and its great what a coincidence that she's be my partner in a bus. She's so kind enough and was really amazed meeting a petite girl like me traveling alone in her country. I was just smile to listen her said " I WISH I COULD BE LIKE YOU". * smile like flying bird* haha |
This is how the city look from my guesthouse veranda. |

EdVallance Thu May 8, 2008 07:21 UTC thanks for your comments on my Papua page. You've had some interesting travels yourself . I especially lke your Philippines page - am heading there myself in October | nimato Sun Apr 6, 2008 06:12 UTC Hi Emie! Indeed Cordillera peeps aren't friendly. When my sister went to Sagada (near Banaue) last month, I told her not to expect hospitality from the locals. First words she said to me when she came back? 'You were right, bro!' :D | muddybok Wed Aug 30, 2006 17:04 UTC Poor dear. Nothing to eat here.
