HELLO MISS HELLO RICKSHAW MISS CHAI HELLO WHERE ARE YOU GOING HELLO MADAM NO PROBLEM MISS RICKSHAW.......
(smiled.....) what a lovely faces of calcutta peoples have. Cant forget about it. They are such lovely..... I just cant stop smiling, showing my teeth to let them realised how I appreciated their keen. This region I considered full of hatred to their own people. Everyone being busy with their own business with car honking people shouting, children crying with anger as mother couldnt afford to feed them while an old man were squatting about to do something which unconciouss to other people and sound of craw singing faded after about million couple of eyes were about opening for another day to follow their ruled of the country...........
In the fall of 1687, Job Charnock, and agent of East India Company secured permission from the Mughals to found the base at Sutanati. In 1696, Old Fort Williams was established and this was the origin of the city of Kolkata. The name Kolkata is derived from Kalikata, one of the three villages whose lands became a part of the new settlement. In the three centuries of its history, Kolkata has grown from a mere fishing village into one of the largest city in India with population of 10.5 million, and indeed, one of the largest cities in the world too. Kolkata served as the capital of British India until 1912 and it is not surprising that one sees predominantly Western architectural styles in its many buildings and monuments. Two of the finest examples are Writers Building and The Victoria Memorial, where the architecture is a medly of the best of Occidental and Oriental styles.
Nevertheless kolkata more than anything else, is a city with strong cultural, literary and religious flavours, This is reflected in the ever increasing flow of activity in such diverse fields as fine arts, writing, music, songs, dance and theatre. Equally a part of modern kolkata are its many clubs and sport centers. Calcuttans are avid fans of football and cricket. The city today symbolises creativity and vibrance.
All this at a stone's throw from some of the best choices in hotels, easy conveyence and good cuisance which go to make it an important gateway to the east and the exotic north-east.
