| Tzabar/Cactus around Tel Aviv |
Hello and welcome! :-) My name is Nava and I was born and have lived all my life in Tel Aviv, Israel. I am, what so called in Hebrew a "Tzabar". Early Jewish Immigrants took the name from the Sabra Cactus, that grows in Israel's rocky semi desert soil. Its fruit is thorny on the outside, but tasted sweet inside. They said their children must be similar to that fruit, tough to withstand the dangers of a settler's life, but sweet with each other, and idealistic. The flowers of the Cactus are absolutely gentle and appears with bright colors and for a short period. So, here I am, trying to show some sites from my country through pictures which my son or me have taken in the last years. Hope it will encourage some of you to come to see it with your own eyes :-) |
