It was a nice day in Napa when me and some of my friends were chatting over some good wine about where to go for the labor day weekend. The idea of Lassen Volcanic National Park came up. It's a little more than 5 hrs north of San Francisco and it's not as crowded as Tahoe. And we heard from some other friends who have been there that it the place was really nice. What a good idea it turned out to be! |
| | Getting there... can be a little boring as you basically drive north from San Francisco (that's where I took off from) through highway 5 basically through uninteresting dry yellow fields. But once in the park it's a different story - nice curvy roads in the woods with some amazing mountain and lake views. Once we got to the park, I wished that I was on my motorbike, beating the curves! |
This was also... going to be a nice trip to try out my new camera (an Olympus C-750 Ultrazoom) and some of the photography techniques I've just learned upon my recent interest in this great hobby... | | | A shot of a flower at our campground, Hatcreek |
