Buzios is a charming place situated 105 miles , a two hour drive from Rio de Janeiro . In the summer months it can get crowded but if you go off season , like I did, it will be very quiet.

Buzios became well known all over the world after Brigitte Bardot chose it as a holiday destination. They even gave the name of "Orla Bardot" to the downtown area next to the sea. Since then many artists and other famous people began holidaying there and it became a very cosmopolitan place though still with a relaxing atmosphere.

Buzios has great beaches and good shops and restaurants , as well as very nice "pousadas" for every budget.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great beaches, good food and a cosmopolitan feeling.
Cons:Not much vegetation.
In a nutshell:A cosmopolitan beach destination!

Buzios looks like a pleasant little town with lovely seaside sights and interesting restaurants and shopping. No wonder Bardot loved visiting here....regards from Texas!
