"Ubud - Bali's cultural center" Ubud by tere1
Ubud Travel Guide: 520 reviews and 1,297 photos
Ubud, a small town in the center of Bali, is considered its cultural center. Its well known for its amazing rice fields, woodcarving, crafts and all type of balinese arts.
Many people can go to Ubud just to look around and spend the day but many prefer to spend a few days. I advise anyone going to Bali to spend at least a couple of days in Ubud, as it's an amazing place.
There is accomodation for all budgets, from small bed and breakfasts to luxury resorts. Some of the best resorts in Bali are located in Ubud.
There are lots of small shops, cafes, restaurants and its ambiance and atmosphere is unique and the surrounding areas are beautiful, with amazing landscapes.
- Pros:Relaxed, colourful, amazing rice fields and good food
- Cons:The monkeys can steal your camera...!
- In a nutshell:Ah, the beautiful rice fields!

Hello, Teresa! I see you've had an enjoyable stay there! That's a nice place indeed! ><><><><><><
This place is very different from anything I know! I am more familiar with dry countries! A cooking class is a real great idea! The rice fields are superb!
Ubud always charming with the art and painting.... and ofcourse the rice field!!! ^_^
Nice pics !Did you visit the palaces?G'day from sydney
I too love the Ubud rice fields. It's wonderful how they change with the sunlight throughout the day. Got up at first light to photograph them and got to see the worker's as they walked to work.
Ubud looks so beautiful, especially as it's very snowy here :o) Thanks for some great tips; Greetings from Calgary ~ Helen
