Denmark - Copenhagen

Copenhagen

I have always been interested in travelling to Copenhagen. The city has always been of interest to me and I decided that I would go there this year and check it out for myself. I decided to go there in early March and to my surprise I found it to be freezing. I wasn`t expecting it to be that cold, even though I took all my winter clothes with me the cold weather did affect me while I was over there. It felt like walking around in a freezer and although I live in Scotland I have never felt the cold they way I felt it in Copenhagen

Getting Around

Getting around in Copenhagen is easy and most things are within walking distance. I actually walked everywhere and found that the best way of getting around. There are trains that will take from the airport to the city centre in under 15 minutes. You can use the underground, take a bus or even hire a push bike.

Sights

Copenhagen is a fun and easy city to spend time in. There are no high buildings and everything looks so open as you come out of the central station. Right across from the station is the Tivoli Gardens( only open in summer). The Round Tower can be found right in the middle of the shopping area and is worth a visit on a clear day. There are plenty Museums and Art Galleries close to the city centre and if there is one attraction that is harder to get to I would say it was the little mermaid which is located qute a distance from the city centre.
One of the most pretty areas in Copenhagen is the old Nyhavn area with their old resturants and pubs and lovely old boats tied up alongside the walkway.
