Dublin - the City

Just like every other European capital, Dublin is packed with historical sights and interesting museums. We spent two whole days in the city center (and a couple nights ;-) and I have the feeling that there's still a lot to be seen! As you will see in my travelogue, we visited a lot of places on our walks, but still many buildings, musea were left undiscovered.
I am sure we will make up for that in our next visit.

Dublin - Surroundings

One of the amazing things about Dublin is that you can go an a bus drive for about half an hour and find yourself in a completely new environment! We did a tour through the Wicklow Mountains and to Glendalough which was absolutely marvellous! Great views, funny stories, lots of culture and history, ...
A very good tip!

Thanx to helpful Dubliners!

There's another thing which makes Dublin unique, and that's its pubs filled with very interesting, sociable and friendly Dubliners. Before leaving, I asked a question in this forum, and I got many answers from VTers! One of them is Ciaramalone, who gave me some good advice on how to get to the city centre from the airport. Then there's also Lochlainn & Orlikins, whose name I could never forget :-) who gave me some hints on which pubs to visit. I must say that the advice they gave was excellent!
Please also visit their VT-pages!

Pros:"Many more historic sights than I initially thought, many young people, ..."
Cons:"Bouncers everywhere, very dangerous bus drivers"
In A Nutshell:"I definitely will go back to this pub filled with smaller pubs!"

Splendid weather and actual Irish company and those surreal Wicklow Mtns, my own best Dublin memories, no doubt. And the Guinness, of course, doesn't that go without saying? ;-O
