Going up in the mountains with the winding roads give you many fine views of valleys and mountain tops.

In Departemento de Ancach there are two mountain chains: the Cordillera Blanca (with snow on top) and the Cordillera Negra.
The valley between is called Callejón de Huaylas, with the cities/villages of Recuay, Huaraz, Carhuas, Yungay and Caraz.

In the villages in the countryside, you will find many woman dressed in traditional dresses.

These stone sculptures can be seen in the regional Museum of Ancash, in Huaraz.
