The yard where the woman lived - Ruinas de Pachacamac

The yard where the woman lived

Visit Mamacona - in the Pachacamac site

Favorite thing: The House of the Mamacona (Sun Virgins) is a bit apart from the main group of temples, near the entrance.
In the middle of the 20th century it (unfortunately) was reconstructed.
If the idéa of how the house was built is correct, it has been an impressing building and also living place for hundreds of the woman chosen for the Inca and the nobles.
Due to vandalism, you are only aloud to enter the Mamacona in company with a guide.

Lurin, an oasis in the desert. - Ruinas de Pachacamac

Lurin, an oasis in the desert.

Visit the valley of Lurin

Favorite thing: The green valley of Lurin, seen from Pachacamac.
This valley is close to Pachacamac, it is calm and nice and there are several good restaurants where you can go after your visit at Pachacamac. Also take a look at the newly painted yellow church.

Favorite thing: Pachacamac is very close to the sea. It was one of the most important places for the Incas. The second Templo del Sol was constructed here, with guiding assistance from Cuzco.
The Panamerica Highway passes between Pachacamac and the borderline.
