The Swiss Apple Paradise

Weinfelden is situated in Thurgau Province of Switzerland very known as Land of Apples. It was my first time here, an invitation to visit Weinfelden 3 years ago from a family friend in Philippines who lives here many years and got married to Swiss.
Weinfelden is 20 kilometers away from Constance and the Bodensee, very close to the German border...It is surrounded by huge Apples fields being the major product. Weinfelden and the province of Thurgao has no mountains...this is said to be the only part of Switzerland where you cannot find mountains but only few hills.

I would like to dedicate this page to family MARTI who gave us a first class treatment for 4 days stay in Weinfelden. It was a wonderful unforgetable first time in your place, superb!.....Those Apples! yes, they have their own hectares of apples, a Chicken Farm, a Tourist bus, which we got a free tour to the mountain side of Switzerland from Weinfelden....It was a great experience having a private 4star tourist bus with only 8 persons of us as passengers.

The Apple Farm....

I was in the Farm, Carmen drove and showed her apple plantation. They have 4 types of apples and indeed! lots of work during harvest but according to her you won't get bored working and picking because you won't be alone and it can be a group of people.....after the harvest time, they have a big apple party as a tradition.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Apples......and everywhere apples!
Cons:Quite boring being stuck in the fields if you're not used to it.

I searched for and found my contemporary "cousins" who produce apples and pears on a slope below the castle. My wife and I have since exchanged home visits with "cousins" in Weinfelden. We share a common grandfather seven generations back!

I can imagine how lovely this holiday must have been with that Swiss and Filipino hospitality. Wow...freshly squeezed apple juice every morning? Wonderful!

Looks a great nature!!Switserland is so beautifull..i love it!!
