This hotel is beautiful with a long history of famous guests, movies being shot here at the hotel and numerous other events. The hotel is situated on 50th and park avenue and lexington avenues, so its in an excellent location, near Rockefeller Center and many other attractions. Room was comfortable and service was excellent in all areas. This hotel is a bit pricey , but the rooms are comfortable, tastefully decorated and safe and secure.
Unique Qualities: Service is top notch. Beautiful lobby and restaurants

I stayed one night here. It was ok, but not worth what i paid. I got it on priceline for $ 145 a night( $173 with taxes). Not worth that.......it had a musty smell and was damp and the carpet was wet because it was so damp.....it was not a dump or anything like that, but it was not that great. The bed was not comfortable either. The upside is the location was great. The walls are thick so you are not disturbed and its quiet.....but they need to fix that musty smell and dampness problem

I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel on 7/15/05. It is located near times square, but far enough so that you do not hear any of the noise from time square..its about a 5 minute walk to Times Square. The hotel is very nice.. I asked for a quiet room and they put me in a room far away from the elevator and icemachines... I didnt hear a thing. I didnt hear anyone next to me , above me, nothing except in the morning when people started their showers, i could hear that a little, but that is hard to prevent, most hotels you do hear that.. But it was not that bad, very slight. THe bathroom was a nice large marble bath with plush robes..they have turn down service too. It was a nice stay because it was comfy ( bed really comfy), spacious, great location and not that bad as far as price ( $ 265 a night with all taxes)..its hard to get anything in NY under $ 225 that is decent, so you will always end up spending at least that. I recommend this hotel and will stay again!
Unique Qualities: Large rooms, comfortable bed, very very clean.

I arrived late because of a power outage on the amtrak lines heading into NYC, so i did not get to take advantage of the complimentary wine reception between 5 and 6 pm at The Muse. I did enjoy a quiet night's sleep in a very comfortable and clean and nicely sized room. The Muse is in a great location, very near to Times Square (221 west 46th street, between 6th and 7th avenue) but you dont hear any of the noise. Its extremely quiet. When I returned to the hotel from the show that i had seen, a room close to mine, i could hear people laughing and it sounded like there were a lot of people in there and i thought to myself " Oh no, a sleepness night ahead" But when i got into my room, i couldnt hear a sound. It was all quiet, i didnt hear a thing. The walls and floors must be very thick because i didnt hear one sound all night, not one. Only the next morning, i did hear police sirens, but that is unavoidable in NYC. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very nice, contemporary, tastefully decorated and in an excellent location.
Unique Qualities: Tasteful decorated, very thick walls and floors( didnt hear a sound), spacious, very clean. The hotel offers several spa services available in your room if you prefer. I didnt get to experience that though because i arrived so late, but next time i will, i may book a massage.
