Just call the embassy and they will fax you over ( or email) an application for a visa. Then you pay the $ 100, and send it in along with your passport to the embassy. Send it registered mail. They send it back to you certified mail. I cannot recall if that is a special request or automatic. Just ask them if they always send it certified mail. If they say no, then request it......i think its an option that you need to ask them to do, but cant recall since its been a few years since i applied for a syrian visa.

Congratulations on having the guts to visit such a wonderful country & people, whose warmth I shall never forget! I hope more Americans will visit there and get the real "feel" of Syria. Lovely pages.
Very interesting tips. I'd like to go to Syria one day, your page encouraged me even more.
Enjoyed your Syrian pages - thanks
Interesting restaurant comments. I'm curious, I don't speak Arabic, would it be difficult to communicate with a language barrier? I've wanted to go to Damascus for sometime.
When the US State Department puts a country on the "watch list", that raises it's potential value for me as a place to go. I don't want to go to really dangerous places, but sometimes it's nice to be where the number of tourists are fewer in number.
