Krakow is a great walking city. Plenty to see in the City Center, lots of little cobblestone streets, little cafes, unique restaurants and shops. Lots of activity, people, jazz lounges, plenty for everyone. Then there are the quiet little streets off the beaten path where you can imagine life there years ago because not much as changed in many of the neighborhoods...Krakow has a tremendous history that predates the middle ages. During the middle ages. It became Poland's capital back in 1038 and the kings lived in wawal castle... It stayed the capital until 1791, but around 1691 the kings started to choose Warsaw as a place to stay... so political activity moved to warsaw too. Of course in 1939, poland was invaded by the Third Reich and soviets and the country was divided among these two occupiers...... So visit Poland... its a lovely country and Krakow is a very charming city that is full of history...... |
