A piece of the past

Inside Budapest: 'Bambi presszo'. Actually its a place where you can eat, but its also a piece of Budapest's past. Presszos are a kind of socialist coffeehouse, and there are a few left in Budapest.
Presszos are special hungarian phenomena; they are pubs, restaurants and coffeehauses in one building. Their interior design, the plates, cups etc. are memories from the communist era. There were a lot of presszo 15 yrs ago, but nowadays there are only a few. It really worth to see, and have a cup of coffe or a glass of beer.

Directions: Bambi Presszó: Near to the Buda end of Margit-bridge; on the corner of Frankel Leo street and Bem square.

Other Contact: Open: every day from 9-21 oclock

If you go to Lake Balaton than you MUST visit the Káli-basin (Káli-medence in hungarian). It is one of the most beautiful area of whole Hungary, with cute little villages like Talliándörögd, Vigántpetend, Kapolcs. Actually there is an Art Festival in every summer around july in these villages. Its fabolouos!

Lake Balaton - absolutely... - Hungary
Lake Balaton - absolutely...

Lake Balaton - absolutely beautiful in the summer or in the winter. (The best in the spring). My favourite town is Balatonfüred. If you like to sail, and you have a driving permit (for sailing) you can hire a boat; a B-25 type boat (6 persons's place) costs 10-15 thousand HUF/day. You can also hire boat in Balatonkenese or Alsóörs.

Inside Budapest
Parks: There are some new parks in the city. One of them is called 'Millenáris Park' - it is really nice (despite of the political storm around it), and the other new park (which also triggered political storm) is called Erzsébet-tér, it is also beautiful. (Picture: Millenáris-park by András Jókuti)

Directions: Millenáris Park: near to Széna square - you can get there by tram number 4 or 6.
Erzsébet-tér: near to Deák square, you can get there by metro (all the 3 metros stop there).
