The Emerald City

Downtown on a slightly hazy day
Seattle’s image as a city that is always dulled by rain is not exactly true. I always thought the image was Seattle’s best form of population management. Without it I could see no reason why anyone would not fall in love with Seattle. Its location is just about perfect nestled between the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains rising in the distance across the water. The result is an outdoors lover’s paradise: hiking, camping, kayaking, sailing, waterfalls, mountain peaks, and temperate rain forests are all within a short distance from Seattle. The city itself is magnificent, surrounded by water with incredible restaurants, shops, parks, and a collection of neighborhoods that each have a unique character. Seattle’s natural beauty is truly unmatched and if offers up the best of whatever your hear desires.

The Well Know

People who come to Seattle inevitably end up at Pike Place Market and justifiably so. It is home to a verity of vendors from fresh seafood to flower arrangements to quirky arts and crafts. In its often unexplored lower levels are a collection of shops selling even more trinkets and unique items. The place is always packed with tourists and locals and is one of the liveliest places in the city. But the market isn’t the only place worthy of a visit. Get away from one of Seattle’s epicenters to find your own hidden locations that are just as magnificent.

and the less traveled

Take one of the many bridges that almost seem to radiate from the city center to find yourself among many of the hidden gems of the Emerald City. Search for trolls and Lenin, stroll along waterfront parks, walk through an urban forest, island hop in the middle of a city, search out one of the best high tea experiences, mingle with the students of UW, and find any other adventure that you desire. Find the lesser know spots they are well worth the search.
