Although Verona doesn't get as much respect as some of the other Italian tourist stops, it is well worth the trip. Things to see range from the time of the Romans to the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, with castles, gardens, churches and museums rounding out the mix of things to do. You don’t need a lot of time to see Verona, but as with most old cities the best way to find something unique about the city is to stumble across it when you are just walking around. Be sure to check out both sides of the river, as the far bank not only has its share of hotels and hostels, but it also contains some of best sites in Verona. |
