Clam Gulch is a fun place to visit. Not only does it have one of the Coolest town names ever But it has Authentic Hawaiian Luau's, FANTASTIC views of Cook Inlet, Volcanoes, long beaches and great clamming!! The town itself isn't much more than a bleep on the map but it's a fantastically beautiful area!! Total amount of residents is somewhere around 120. Clam Gulch was established as a town in 1950 so it's a very new town.
You'll find the turnoff at milepost 117.4 on the Sterling highway. Then it's a 1/2 mile drive to the beach.
- Pros:Great Clamming, Long Beaches, Views of the Volcanos!!
- Cons:Nuthin
- In a nutshell:Pretty Clammy!!

I never knew there were clams in Alaska. Interesting tips!
Scott, you always have the best outdoor tips with tidbits that I personally know little about. Looks like fun and also seems quite fascinating to me. Clam digging does look like fun but hard work.
the digging for clams sounds like fun, but since i dislike seafood, the eating of them might not go down so well! hehe. super page scott, looks like the perfect sunny day when you were there!
Very cool place to visit Scott! I'll bet that was a funny sight to see turning around all those mini vans. You are so luck to see the bold eagle as much as you do, we never or rarely see them around here. :o)
Sounds to be quite difficult to harvest the clams, but fun!
So far you're the only other VT'er I've found who has a tip on clam digging! : ) I had to check out this page because the name sounds like a place that could be in Washington.
Another interesting page by Scott. Well done!
Sounds like quite a race for the clam here but definitely not for the tenderfoots......LOL.......Fancy getting bogged. Thank you for a very interesting page Scott.
What a nice place to explore, you always find places like that! I love the Bald Eagles pic . Nice nice :-))
Poor clams. How would you like to be a clam snoozing in your clam hole and all of a sudden have some guy trying to dig you out of your clam nest.
