The Philippines has some pretty cool forms of transportation. My favorite is the Jeepney. It is very cheap and once you learn the routes you can get anywhere in Manila or any towns.
The Philippines have a ton of beaches to choose from. As there are over 7000 Islands. There must be at least triple that in beaches too!!
- Pros:Friendly People, Great Food
- Cons:Smog in the city!
- In a nutshell:Well worth a month or two!!

I visited Batad last March also. I really enjoyed it, I am a Filipino but my Batad experience was really different. I am really glad you enjoyed your stay in the philippines. please come back. =)
i am humbled that my pages caught the attention of a top VT member and got nice comments. thanks a lot, scott and hope you revisit Phil soon. Mabuhay ka!
great pictures! thanks for posting them!! made me homesick :*( ... but made me smile too!
awesome page... i haven't been to the mountainous areas of the philippines in about 17 years so its nice to see pics of it. maybe i'll do it when i go back next year.
Once I had a visitor from the Philippines who was shocked to see Finland with blue sky and 30 C / 86 F degrees in July ;-)
Scott, you sure know how to "smell" your way into wet markets - the focal point of community life in rural Phils. Loved the way you focused on the joys of simple living in this country, which is more often unappreciated by most urban folks. Many thanks.
Scott, Great Intro photo-creative. Wet market was good info. Loved old church ruins photo! Baguio Cathedral--beautiful. Good Restaurant tips. Enjoyed Burial Caves. Great travelogues.
Still looking for a place to get away from the coming winter... The Philippines look great. Thanks for the useful info!
Great page, very interesting. I suess they could be called the cheapneys.
U never know, Scott, maybe your mailman foray was the inspiration for that Kevin Costner movie.... Nice coverage of the rural PI...
