The Philippines has some pretty cool forms of transportation. My favorite is the Jeepney. It is very cheap and once you learn the routes you can get anywhere in Manila or any towns.

Beaches

The Philippines have a ton of beaches to choose from. As there are over 7000 Islands. There must be at least triple that in beaches too!!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Friendly People, Great Food
Cons:Smog in the city!
In a nutshell:Well worth a month or two!!

I visited Batad last March also. I really enjoyed it, I am a Filipino but my Batad experience was really different. I am really glad you enjoyed your stay in the philippines. please come back. =)

awesome page... i haven't been to the mountainous areas of the philippines in about 17 years so its nice to see pics of it. maybe i'll do it when i go back next year.

Scott, you sure know how to "smell" your way into wet markets - the focal point of community life in rural Phils. Loved the way you focused on the joys of simple living in this country, which is more often unappreciated by most urban folks. Many thanks.
