Banteay Srei - Cambodia

Banteay Srei

Tower of Banteay Srei

Favorite thing: This is one of the main towers of Banteay Srei. It is interesting as it is a 10th century Hindu Temple. I only saw Buddhist monks visiting when I was there. They may have been tourists from Thailand or another part of Cambodia.

Cambodia Roads - Cambodia

Cambodia Roads

Black line down the road

Favorite thing: If you will notice the middle of the road on the photo. You can see that there is a black line right down the middle of the road. That is from the tires of the motorcycles. Almost all of the travel has been down right down the middle of the road. That just shows you how little the traffic has been. If there was a lot of traffic there is no way that people going both ways can travel in the center. When I first saw that I thought it was very interesting. Someday soon these roads will be changed. They are to narrow for buses and cars. The slower traffic of bicycles and ox carts stay to the right while the speedier motorcycles fly down the center. If you are driving a motorcycle yourself beware of the soft sand on the sides of the road.!

Inside Angkor Wat - Cambodia

Inside Angkor Wat

My son relaxing in Angkor Wat

Favorite thing: After checking out the higher areas of Angkor you can get pretty hot! You'll probably want to carry some water with you. There are some places that you will find that are hidden from the sun and can be a nice place to cool down a bit before you head off for more Tomb Raiding!

Monks at Banteay Srei

Favorite thing: The Monks at Banteay Srei were pretty friendly and I though their robes looked very nice against this 1000 year old temple. I enjoyed our morning here. It is really nice as there so many huge trees around the Temple.

Buddhist Monastery - Cambodia

Buddhist Monastery

Temple at Bakong

Favorite thing: This is a shot of the Buddhist Monastery at Bakong which is part of the Roulous Group. It is worth the drive to come here to check things out. The ruins are very interesting! As you enter there will be vendors selling soft drinks, water, post cards etc... "You remember me I'll remember you!!" You will here that and when you come out the one that said that to you first will expect that if you buy anything ...that it will be bought from her!
