I went to India in 1985 so some of this information will be way outdated! But I went to Sasan Gir Wildlife Park where they held "Lion Shows" 2 times per month. They had a Water Buffalo tied to a tree and the Lions would come in from the forest or wherever they lived and hung out in the area while they were photographed. We got to view them for an hour or so. After we left I believe the water Buffalo was feed to the lions. As there were alot of horns and hoofs on the ground already. There were armed security personell there to protect us if the lions decided to attack. But they didn't seem interested in the humans they just kept their eyes on the Water Buffalo. It seemed quite interesting.

The Asian Lions range once extended all the way west to the Middle East where they were hunted by the kings of Mesopotamia (modern Iraq). Nice photos Scott.
Oooh, and I was just about to have some breakfast.
Great picture of the lion. Intesting that they were fed Water Buffalo. Very good meat, I am told.
Really amazing to see your photos of Asian lions - not many of those left!! I know what you mean re accommodations - in 1985 I too was not into photgraphing where I stayed!
I wouldn't want to be stuck with a lion! It probably feels lousy to be in a belly.
Nice tiny page and great pictures of the lions !
I agree with your opinion of Gujarat. Interesting wildlife pictures too.
Love the photo of the Sadhu!
Nice page Scott!
Great pics of the lions, Scott!!
