Las Vegas

My Cousin Barry and I were on a cross-country trip Kodiak Alaska - Livermore Falls Maine. We had just finished visiting our friends from Maine that were now living in Visalia California. We left sometime in the late afternoon??? I don't really remember! LOL But I do remember thinking that Las Vegas must be closer than what the map said it was because after the sun went down whe could see the lights of Las Vegas reflecting way up into the clouds!! Well the map was right and it took us until around midnight to reach Vegas! LOL When we got there my cousin asked what I wanted to do and said "Cruise the strip" so we drove up and down the strip and then picked a casino to go into. I'm not much on the gambling stuff and I didn't have a whole bunch of money with me so I put $13 in my right pocket and said when it's gone it's gone!! Barry played some card games but I went to the nickel slot machines! One of the first nickels I put in was a winner! I was thinking that I had won a million dollars the way the nickels sounded coming out of the machine. But after it was all added up it was $5. So no retirement yet. I managed to win a few more times and just walked around watching how other people responded to what they were doing. When I was playing the nickel slot machines a few of the regulars thought I was stupid for changing machines! They kept saying "Sonny you gotta stay on one machine or you'll never win"! I showed them my big of nickels ...must've been up to $15 by now! LOL I was getting rich one nickel at a time.... By the time we left at 5 am I still had more than my original $13 in my pocket and I had some fun so I figured I came out ahead! We ended up leaving around 11 in the morning but I ended up losing the rest of the $$$ in a quarter slot machine in a diner!!

I only took a couple of pictures in the morning so I don't have much to document my 12 hours in Las Vegas!! I think the whole face fo Las Vegas has changed since I was there.

I was finally lucky to win $4 (FOUR) in LV! Yes, Hoover Dam is cool! I had to be there twice: at night (walking on the dam was forbidden at night) and at day :-)

Lived here for 5 years during my high school years, it was pretty cool then, now I cannot stand the place! I always laughed whenever someone one a trip to Las Vegas on a game show!

That's pretty much the same that I remember of Nevada: Hoover Dam and Las Vegas! so I really enjoyed that page of yours!!!!
