Well this was 1984 so I'm sure things have changed so don't base a future trip off anything you read here. To get the same Awesome experience I've heard and read that you must go further afield. To tell you the truth I'm not exactly sure where my trek was. I do know that we drove a couple of hours north-east of the city..I think? LOL But in the General Tips you can read about my trek. It is such a great memory for me! I'm glad VT is here to give me the medium to share it. The other tips are for the City of Chiang Mai and surrounding areas. Sometime I'll come on here and re-arrange the tips. I've built and repaired this page 3 or 4 times and VT has switched things around. You will see the tips that end in "Part 1 part 2 etc..." Those are all from my trek in order. Vt has mixed everything up so the ones with out the Part are just tips from around the city. Sorry...I'll come on here sometime and fix it all up again!! But for now I hope you enjoy the trek! It is one of my great memories of traveling!!
