  • For some reason I had in my mind that Monks would be not easy to talk to. But I was wrong they usually love to talk probably to learn about where I am from and to practice their English. This picture is me and a couple of Monks at the Grand Palace in 1984 on my first trip to Thailand! Since then I have had many pleasant conversations with Monks.

  • Scene from inside the river taxi. The seats are very comfortable and easy to find except maybe during the rush hour!

  • Although most of the streets are clean I did see quite a bit of trash floating in the river! I'm sure some of the people that live on the waters edge just toss their trash right into the river and don't even think twice about it. That dang plastic just floats!

  • This is how...It is pronounced the same! So if want a Pepsi just say Pep See! Coke is also just Coke but of course the script is different.

.........and another experience I had at Wat Arun was someone offering a photo opp (for money of course) with a rather large python! .........for shoppers, the T-shirt range here is exceptionally good!
