If you go to the canal that runs to the market from the main canal early in the morning you can see the locals from other villages coming in to sell their wares! It is an awesome site to see. It is a very busy time. I'm not sure how the boats turn around as the canal is quite narrow and the canal stops so they must row the boats out backwards. I didn't stay around to see what they did.
- Pros:Inle Lake is nearby
- In a nutshell:Beautiful

Great photos and interesting tips. I agree, you are the Burma expert.
It is always great to browse through your Asia pages Scott!!
Very nice scenes of both the canals and the countryside! You and Hadji must have really enjoyed yourselves in such a beautiful place.
Fantastic page, Scott. Seems you are *the* Burma expert - next time you should wear a straw hat - just for the photo
I agree with mrclay2000, your Asian pages are the best. I loved the Wooden Temples pic.
The best Asian pages on VT!
As usual, another beautiful and touching Myanmar page, Scott... I like your human vision of these people and their lives.
Another wonderful page, Scott! Excellent photos - very enjoyable!!
It certainly is a busy time with the long boats - real traffic jam. Wonderful though to watch the locals in their daily life. A wonderul trip for you and your son. Great photos. Happy Birthday
