Nyuang U - Cool town to spend some time in

I liked the atmosphere of Nyuang U. It is a small town that offered lot's of small guesthouses to take care of the lower end traveler. There are plenty of tea shops and places to eat offering all kinds of local cuisine. In the evening the main street is a pleasant place for a stroll. Wandering around town certainly gave me the feel of a time gone by! There are Horse carts, Ox Carts, Old Buses, lot's of bicycles and very little traffic.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Close to Bagan!
  • In a nutshell:Great small town

Where to stay and eat, SE Asia? Just ask Scott. He knows how to do it. I had this same thing happen to me for a haircut in Kathmandu. lol

Such interesting reading. I LOL when I read about your son doing homework and people watching over his shoulder! Loved the haircut experience and the hotel man who came on the bus....you have great adventures; memories to savor with your son.

You have been to so many beautiful and interesting places Scott and I love that you share them with people like me who most probably will never get the opportunity to travel there. Thank you.

Sometimes the best moments of travel are sitting at a cafe with a cold drink, watching the world pass by.

Doesn't seem to have changed much in the 25 years since old Cliffie was there!

You're really mean - making your son working on school subjects instead of watching people, tea drinking at these wonderful tea shops!
