Wooden Buddhas
If you're interested in a nice wooden carved Buddha you won't have any problem finding one. I bought some smaller ones in the Nampan Market at Inle Lake so I wasn't in the shopping mood in Yangon. I think the prices are higher in Yangon than they were up country but that may depend on your bargaining skills. Mine too! LOL
When you really want something the price is higher. When you don't want it the price drops.
What to buy: If you look real close in the picture you can see me and I'm the one taking the photo!

Longyi Lady
There are shops selling Longyi everywhere. Since it is the national clothing item everyone buys them. Prices will vary depending on the material but cheaper Longyis can be bought for less than US$1

corn or suitcases??
You'll never know what you'll find around the next corner! There didn't seem to be any special order in some of the markets and other markets had food areas, metal areas, dry goods etc.... I just thought the corn on the cob and suitcases made a great combination. If you buy a suitcase check it out thoroughly! Zippers, locks etc... My son wanted to buy a single strap backpack And we never found one that wasn't defective!!! One guy was demonstrating the amazing quality to use and the zipper stuck and while he was working it out the whole handle of the zipper just fell right off!! LOL He was pretty embarrassed but we had a good chuckle.

poster vendor
There are lot's of guys like this selling what appears to be laminated Alphabet cards and other things. I bought a couple of lamenated "Foods that should not eat together" posters. So I can reference what foods that should not be eaten with other foods! LOL Some examples parrot/ gourd frog/mushroom coconut/honey duria/djenkol ginger salad/ ice cream watermelon/ duck egg Never ever eat any of those combinations! I don't know what will happend to you but it says don't eat them together.

Vege Vendor
If you're in the need of fresh vegetables you have any problem finding them. There are many street vendors selling any type of vegetable that you can imagine.
