    • Don't call it Frisco, San Fran or any other weird thing you've heard. People will point and roll their eyes.
    Oakland, and eastern cities are called the East Bay. San Mateo and close cities are called the Peninsula. San Jose and close cities are the SIlicon Valley and Marin and close cities are North Bay. There is no west bay, as San Francisco extends to the westernmost point.

    • People come here expecting it to be some sort of gay mecca where everyone is gay and wearing a rainbow t shirt or something.

    Yes, there are a lot of gay people here. There are also a lot of straight people, liberals, democrats, fishermen, single mothers and diabetics. Amongst a million other types. And you can't pick them out of a crowd.

    Just come expecting diversity and put away your accusatory finger.
