    • You have to be careful about the drivers and police in Veracruz. The town itself was almost like driving in Mexico City, people everywhere and very agressive. Also watch out for the police and mordidas. A mordida is a bribe that the police try to extract from you by pulling your car over for some dumb violation of the traffic laws. They usually start out high, but you can get them down to a reasonable level. I don't mind paying it out when it's low because I know in the long run it will help the guys family out since they live on such a little salary anyway. I just think of it as my informal contribution to help out Mexican society!

     Thats a good warning about the bribes... probably a bit intimidating at first. Sounds like they take pride in their city. The beaches definitely sound wonderful.
