FOG CITY

by madamx - last update: Sep 28, 2005

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco from Twin Peaks
"It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world."

. : Oscar Wilde : .

It's All About the Fog

I loved the fog in San Francisco -- maybe because I don't live there? I loved how in the evening you can see the whisps of fog rolling in as the sun sets. I loved sitting on our window seat in our hotel room in the morning, bundled up in a robe sipping on hot chocolate, watching the busy street through the fog, the US flag bravely whipping in the wind. The fog is totally part of the San Francisco experience, don't hate it, embrace it! Oh, yeah, don't forget to pack a coat.

How to Make the Perfect City

Take one of every human group imagineable
Add the Pacific Ocean
One Cup (heaping) of Beautiful Scenery (I prefer to use Marin County but any beautiful scenery will do)
Several tablespoons of good-quality shopping
A sprinkling of romantic European architecture
A pinch of quirkiness (you can leave this out, but this will make it bland)

This recipe can very easily doubled or tripled. Make plenty as it is always very popular, and appeals to a wide range of people.
You'll need a nap after eating all day long ...
It's All About the Food

San Francisco is one of the world's cuisine crossroads. You can find any food your heart desires, just start walking. Don't worry about getting lost; your stomach will lead the way.

FAVORITE AREAS FOR GOOD FOOD

The Mission District
The Ferry Building
North Beach

I met one of the owners of Poggio the other night in the restaurant where I work. I would love to go there!

Just checking to see if you've added new restaurants to your list after your recent trip to San Francisco but I don't see any new ones ;-(
