Guinness Brewery: Get Yo Drink On
  • Tip Rating:
  • Here I am modeling my Guinness. I don't like dark beer but with Guinness' extra cold refrigeration technology, the stout was ice cold!
Find your way to the "sky lounge" and enjoy your beverage with a view of Dublin. Honestly, the view isn't really that great but you've got your Guinness to peppy you up right? (OK Guinness paid me to market for them all right?)

    Guinness Brewery: Choo Choo
  • Tip Rating:
  • Inside the brewery, Guinness built a small railway system to help speed up the brewing process. These were models of planes, trains and ships in one of the exhibits. Pretty amazing.

Trinity College: Where are the students?
  • Tip Rating:
  • I visited Trinity College but there were no students in sight. I guess it was summer break. Then I discovered something called the Book of Kells (I think I misspelled it), scriptures that lit up in the dim lighting but I was more fascinated with the colonnades in the library. The books were arranged by size because they had so big book, height and width wise. I don't mean by thickness. One of the staff members told me it was an operational library where students still can check out these aged-old books only with the help of the staff there.

    Dublin Castle: Boy's Room?
  • Tip Rating:
  • I needed to go real bad so I went into the Dublin Castle to look for a bathroom. I think I found one in the church.

I wasn't impressed with the Castle, it was more like a big estate. Surely there were no princesses for me to rescue!

Things To Do: I'm a big fan of the bus tours...
  • Tip Rating:
  • ...'cause I can sit my lazy ass on the bus, don't have to walk and the bus driver rants out all the cool things to look at. I took the Southern Coast of Ireland tour, 4 hours. However, I slept through half of it. The driver was entertaining as hell but I guess I was hanging out at the Temple Bar area too long the night before. Naps during vacations are a great thing. Try it for yourself. I've napped everywhere, in the Notre Dame in Paris, in the parks of Budapest...

Things To Do: Southern Coast Ireland Tour
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Irish coast, although a bit grey that day, was a welcomed site. All that madness in Dublin center, it was nice to get away.

Markets: Grub on in the Food court
  • Tip Rating:
  • In middle of the Temple Bar area, there's an open door food/greens market. I love these things 'cause I can buy a little bit of all the delicious stuff there. One lady sold Japanese hand snacks (ie sushi). I think I got some pastries there. Sweets number 1! Need to go for a run now to work it off.

Things To Do: Oscar Wilde Plague
  • Tip Rating:
  • On the front of one of the homes in Dublin sits this plague to commemorate Oscar Wilde. I think he was born in this house or something or maybe that's where he stared at the portrait of Dorian Gray? Pick one...

THe fact that my commute to work is only 3 miles / 12 minutes is the ONLY downside ... DOH! ; ) In LA, I'd be TOTALLY digging Satellite radio.

Seems like you had a great time and yes: the Gardaí (as they are called) indeed don't carry weapons. The Irish are a friendly bunch ya know, hehe :)
