The beautiful Isle of Skye offers pure tranquility and unadulterated peace, if that's what you want.
Just cross your fingers and hope for good weather, if so this is a great place for walking, hill climbing, cycling among all other outdoot pursuits.
Skye is home to the most awe-inspiring looking mountains with the lower Red Cuillin and the ragged Black Cuillin in excess of 3800 ft above sea level.
The scenery all around the peninsula is fantastic and if you want to travel further afield the Island port of Uig leads to the Outer Hebrides.
The history on Skye dates back many hundreds of years when Bonny Prince Charlie roamed the Glens and the history is re-told all around the Island.
Skye is well worth the 5 hour drive from Edinburgh, with unmissable scenery en-route...... |
