Aerobus and other Barcelona, Spain Transportation Tips

Getting TO/AROUND: the airport of Barcelona (Aeroport Internacional El Prat) is connected with a so called "aerobus" with the central places of Barcelona. The ticket costs 3,75 Euro (april 2006) and the bus brings you in around 20 minutes from airport to plaza catalunya, the west end of "Las Ramblas". It passes by the "Gran Via" and has some few stops, one of them in plaza d? Espanya. The way from plaza Catalunya may take a bit longer, but still less than half an hour, although for sure it all depends on traffic as well. The busses pass by between every 10 to 20 minutes. As they are quite well frecuentated, you better calculate some waiting time, often you can?t get the first bus because of too many travellers.
The bus offers enough space for your luggage.

Getting TO/AROUND: to get to several towns or vilalges around Barcelona there is a system of trains of short distance traffic. From plaza Catalunya start two main lines, "Metro del Vall?s" and "Linia de Balmes" . Those trains are not part of the Metro, so you got to buy extra tickets, if you use e.g. the BCN-Card or some other kind of day or week ticket for busses and Metro. Am not sure about all prices, but to go to Terrassa, around 40 minutes away from plaza Catalunya, I paid 2,50 Euro. There are vending machines to buy your ticket, normally you get change as well.
