  • It´s worth one´s salt to visit this museum.
As you maybe know, there´s not too much gold that stayed in southamerica, the most of it has been brought directly to Spain where the reyes of Spain lived more than 200 years only from the gold of southamerica. But there´s still a lot in Peru, you can find it e.g as well in the cathedral of Lima and in that museum you find a lot of beautiful works from the times of the Incas and other older cultures.
Besides you find a big exposition of weappons and arms, a lot of ceramics, parts of it typical erotic art of the Chimu culture (there is also a special museum of erotic ceramic arts in Lima = Museo Rafael Larco Herrera) and as well typical historical clothes.

Museos - Museums: Museo de la Nación (National Museum)
  • Tip Rating:
  • The museum shows the Peruvian history from Nazca to Macchu Picchu, from Moche to Inca. It's very complete and the exhibitions are pretty well organised.
There´s been also a special exposition about the "Seńor de Sipan". Today there´s only a copy of it in the museum because the originals are in a new museum in Cajamarca near to the place where the graves were found.

  • Barranco is a destrict of Lima with a lot of bars and discos. From wednesday to sunday you can find every night an interesting place to dance, drink and meet students, artists and tourists from all over the world.
Barranco is also known as an artists destrict...search the way down to the pacific from the little central plaza in Barranco...there you´ll find a lot of beautiful houses where parts of the artists live.

Plaza Mayor And Surroundings: La plaza de armas
  • Tip Rating:
  • The main place of old Lima. Nowadays Lima is so big that there are a lot of other big "main places" of several districts of the "Municipalidad de Lima". Every district as for example Miraflores, Lince, San Isidro, Jesus Maria, Surco as as well Lima (also a district -the central district) etc has it´s own townhall and government.

Here around the main plaza de armas are placed the gigantic cathedral of Lima, the government building of the peruvian president and several other oficial buildings. Very special is the fact, that all the buildings around are painted in yellow....to have a contrast to the often grey sky. Also amazing are the wooden balkonies at some of the buildings around the plaza.

Around Lima: Lima beaches - Silencio
  • Tip Rating:
  • Coca Cola is always first...... in these touristic places of course, but even in the smallest farest away villages: Coca Cola already has been there :-))
It´s one of the most known words in the whole word, am not sure, but think that more than 90% of world population knows the word.

Hi CHancay. I want to tell you that the buildings are painting in that special yellow because , it was one of the colors that used to paint when there was the spaniard colony.
